baubles + bubbly party!

Monday, September 30, 2013

yesterday morning i hosted a Chloe + Isabel jewelry party on my back deck full of mimosas, parfaits, & lots and lots of pretty jewelry. the party was a group of my favorite girls & overall was a great success! here's a few pics from the party & the shop is still open to anyone who would like to purchase some of the gorgeous jewelry. they make great gifts or can be a little something, something for yourself!
Tiger wanting to be included + sampling a necklace!
my favorite: the pendant necklace + Stark showcasing his inner model

i love autumn. i love the word autumn (ohhh, baby girl name?) favorite season hands down. it's the time of year where everyone goes outside to enjoy the cool crisp air, the changing leaves, + the apples, pumpkins, & gourds. & who can forget the growing excitement for the best upcoming holidays?? this year i am making a list of things i want to accomplish for these fall months:

1. go apple picking: get all different kinds to make apple sauce, pies, & apple butter
2. go to a fair: taste test all the food, especially the fried dough
3. host a party: this sunday!
4. paint: get back in the swing of things & start a painting for bumble b's nursery
5. make a kick ass halloween costume: finish my 'where the wild things are' max costume
6. get my martha crafts on: felt, acorns, flowers... the projects are endless when you have martha by your side (okay, maybe just her magazine)
7. carve pumpkins in a unique way: get inspired by prints, type, & fabrics to create beautiful pumpkins this year instead of scary ones
8. get a new pair of thick cozy socks: and wear them by the nightly fires
9. take a class: knitting, baking, underwater basket weaving...
10. & go hiking: hit up as many trails as possible.

nursery inspiration!

it's never too early to start brainstorming about colors, cribs, & mobiles for little babies. lucky for me, i've had a nursery pinterest board going for quite some time. since i don't know whether it is a boy or girl, i have a few pictures for each gender that i'm majorly swooning over. and with my thrifty abilities & love of diy projects, i am confident i can turn a small space into a wonderful & colorful place for baby B to grow.

first up: little baby girl rooms! i am totally digging red and purple together these days & with the addition of that anthropologie toadstool, i would love to have a nursery that was a combo between nature & circus (crazy i know. think hot air balloons + mushrooms.)

...and then the boy rooms: i'm thinking neutrals with pops of color, stripes, & how cool is that bumble bee wallpaper? love.

wardrobe: 15 weeks

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

JACKET: H&M
DRESS: GAP
TIGHTS + BOOTS: Kohl's

i want to keep up my wardrobe posts so i figured once a week i would do one & incorporate a little question and answer baby post (similar to LittleBabyGarvin's... love her.) i'm not wearing any maternity clothes yet besides a pair of pants i just bought recently... but as a matter of fact i'm not really wearing many of my clothes besides sweats while home in CT. the upstairs of our SF condo has my whole wardrobe gathering dust.. not that most of it would even fit me right now. hello boobs. so today, i wore a perfect staple of a dress from Gap, a fun little jacket from H&M, and of course, had to bust out my Kohl's boots. i'm hoping to just wear a lot of dresses with boots and long tunics while being pregnant through the fall & winter (& holidays! food! score!) and then pop out this chicken nugget early spring!

how far along: 15 weeks
gender: don't know yet, we might not find out.
complexion is: meh. my face is okay, but the whole rest of my body is somehow now covered in little bumps. a common occurrence (so i've read) that supposedly goes away right after birth (it better!)
hair: driving me insane. it's growing faster than i can keep up with so i dyed it darker, then the low lights all faded out, hence the lovely roots. and i keep cutting tons of length off and then a week later it's super long again. i guess i shouldn't be complaining about fast growing hair, but being blonde with fast growing hair sucks... especially for my wallet.
maternity clothes: just purchased my first pair of maternity pants. some black skinny jeans. because walking around with my fly unzipped wasn't too cute.
energy level: much, much more energy than the first 3 months. no more naps.
food aversions: bacon. can't even be around it. i ordered my favorite crispy chicken sandwich from mcdonalds last night and they made it a club & i almost cried over the bacon.
sleeping: great. aside from the (like clockwork) 2 trips to the bathroom every night.
i miss: pete. i'm heading out to cali for a few months after my 18week ultrasound & i can't wait. other than that i miss a TALL glass of blue moon beer with the perfect size orange slice and that first sip that goes down smooth. omg.
mood: a smidge emotional ;) but happy.
& best moment this week: finally showing a little more than the "i just ate a whole pepperoni pizza" bump.

2 years.

time to bring back the blog...

with some big news!
that little guy/girl (loungin with its feet up already) is due early this march & i couldn't be more thrilled.

this came as a total... and i mean total, surprise. pete and i were not planning on having kids until i had more time to heal my spine, we had JUST moved out to cali for goodness sake. but this little peanut will bring us such happiness and love, i cannot wait.
so that's where i've been... in CT... for the past few months seeing all my doctors, figuring out how i am going to have a baby after the past year. i am already considered high risk, but i have a team of people i trust completely, monitoring everything & calming my nerves. the problem has been that there is literally zero information on anyone who has gone through a pregnancy after a coccygectomy (the surgery i had a year ago)... let alone anyone who had the spinal infection and complications i went through. my doctors all did literary searches and came up empty handed. so i'm basically on my own with advice when it comes to anyone else who has been through something similar, which has been tough, but i've had lots of support & so far besides my usual spine pain, i feel great :)

i am so happy to have the blog back, i've missed it so much. and how bout this weather huh?! perfect fall goodness. thank you to all my readers & happy monday!!
