hair dye.

Sunday, August 26, 2012

i have been blonde ever since i tried to dye my hair brown in high school & it turned orange. literally orange (i stayed home from school until i had it stripped)... after the recent events i needed a change. call me crazy, but i just don't want to have to go to the hair salon until i'm fully healed.. which could take until the holidays... SO, my cousin's girlfriend who is an amazing hair colorist allowed me to come in & kinda of stand/squat in order to dye my hair darker. bye bye blonde.. single tear. ill see you again in the spring, but for now i will enjoy my roots growing in as long as i want!

hair inspiration: an ombre of sorts. dark in the roots that fades out to light brown with blonde highlights... pretty much i want to look like elizabeth olsen (total girl crush)

so jackie added dark to my roots, while glazing random pieces & leaving some of my natural blonde out... the end result is below... note: sorry for the shitty iphone quality... these were taken in the back seat of the car on the ride home to show my husband who is on duty this weekend.. i promise tomorrow when i attempt to venture out of the house i will take better ones. hope you like!

 * i totally think i've got the lea michelle pout/smile down PAT. joan rivers would be proud.

fab five.

the dad of one of my little gymnasts works for NYSE. guess who stopped by?

he sent these iphone pics to me to brighten up my day... mission accomplished!

a wedding video

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

with our one year anniversary approaching fast, i've recently discovered our wedding video on youtube. the videographer was a friend of our photographers & put this together for us as a gift. we are beyond in love with it & i personally love seeing the details that we were too busy to pay attention to (the food!) during that crazy/wonderful day... enjoy + have fun watching my horrible dancing... i was a gymnast ok! we do well with choreographed routines :)

& excuse the absence.

holy cow. it has been a long couple of weeks. i took a leave of absence to work on the web design of this blog that got totally interrupted by my need to go to the hospital for two more surgeries on my spine due to an infection. there were severe complications after the first surgery that resulted in me spending the last 10 days in the hospital. i got home yesterday and have to have a PICC line deep in my arm for the next six weeks in order to receive my antibiotics.. needless to say i won't be doing too much blogging... i need a lot of rest in order to heal my wound so pictures of me laying on the couch won't be too entertaining.
one good thing that came out of last week was a change in my outlook. i am so thankful for my family. they drove 5 hours a day to visit me in the NJ hospital and their love & support got me through the worst week i've ever experienced.  pete (who slept in a chair by my side for a week) and i have been talking about what is the most important to us and being around the people we love falls right into that number one slot. we have spent almost three years in NJ not being close to either of our families due to my husband's job. i am so proud of what he does for me & for our country, but he will be leaving the coast guard in the spring and in the meantime we have decided to move back to CT. and we couldn't be more excited.

>>pardon the interruption

please excuse the look of the blog for a few days while i tackle head on this whole css business. i am a total newbie in the blogging world and still figuring out how things work.. i like to pride myself on being semi creative and it just boggles my mind that it could take me two hours to change the look of ONE line on a website. i guess that is why web designers get paid so much. i have all these ideas for how the page could look and no idea how to do it! so bare with me while i mess around with colors, ideas, & fonts! let me know if you have any tips on using ccs, thanks!
