Welcome Braelyn!

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Last week, my beautiful cousin welcomed her first baby into the world. Braelyn Royse arrived in the middle of the night and Luke and I were honored to be able to go and meet her the very next morning. I snapped some pics (edited by Kris) and we all drooled over her sweet cheeks & little fingers. Even Luke was in awe. I can not wait to watch our two littles grow up together with holidays & family traditions the way we did.

Dip dye

 Top: Jenna & Molly
Skirt: Victoria's Secret
Heels: Bass
Necklace: Chloe + Isabel here

Holy humidity. The air is thick here... perfect for my hair. pause, not. But it makes it feel even more like the dog days of summer, so bring on the skirts. This dip dyed one from Victoria's Secret is light, airy, & a punch of peach. And the necklace is one of my favorites from Chloe & Isabel. You can mix and match which pendants you want to use for that particular day: longer or shorter. more pendants or less. options for days.... just how I like it.

Happy Monday!

Top: Anthropologie
Skirt: H&M
Bag: Madewell

So, the booties are obviously my favorite right now, and this top is old from Anthropologie along with the skirt from H&M's "basics" section.  As you might have guessed, I'm a color, pattern, & texture freak. I love simple & basic, but I also love loud & bright.

*I also just started working again, so you're going to see outfits that have some repeat items in them & clothing you can't buy this second. These outfit posts right now will just be for inspiration only until I have the means to be shopping for new clothing every week. Can you imagine? Must be nice. ;)  I also have gotten a bunch of questions about working out after a baby. I am 5'2" (and a 1/2 on a good day) & about 10lbs away from where I would like to be. I didn't gain much weight at all during my pregnancy, but I literally just started going back to the gym & Luke turns 5 months tomorrow. So simply put... I've been slacking. Cardio is the death of me & so painfully boring. I watch the ninja warrior chicks, who were all gymnasts, and think "I could totally do that" and how much fun does that look?? And then I come back down to reality and I drive my ass to Planet Fitness & force myself onto a treadmill.

Hope you all are having an amazing Wednesday!

the best white t-shirt

White T-shirt: Target
Pants: H&M
Sneaks: Adidas
Wrap bracelet: Chloe + Isabel here

Luke's outfit: Baby Gap here
Luke's camo shoes: Baby Gap here

Remember that post about my summer staples? Well add this outfit to the list and call it a day. I'm a sucker for a good white t-shirt & after many years of searching, I will boldly say that Target has some of the best ones. I like non-clingy, a little pocket, and wider sleeves. The one's they sell have all three check marks. I'm also trying to make Sambas have a total come back. I used to wear them back in middle school thanks to growing up in the biggest soccer family ever! (my uncle used to play for the Cosmos... hi uncle Bob!)

Luke is wearing a jellyfish onesie & camo shoes from BabyGap that are both on clearance right now, so go scoop them up if you have a baby... that's a boy... size 0-6months ;)
