2012 outfits in review...

Friday, January 4, 2013

i started wardrobe posts on a whim in september... so really it has only been a couple months of outfits at best, but it has morphed into one of my favorite posts. it encourages me to wear more of my closet & put together looks that reflect my personality. i am looking forward to a full year of fun outfits in 2013!

moisturizing.
my mom taught me at an early age that one of the most important things, besides drinking tons of water, is to moisturize. in almost every magazine, beauty book, and so on, it is the number one thing emphasized. that is because dry skin promotes premature aging. think about it, tight skin equals wrinkles. so from the age of 10, after every single shower, i would slather my body in lotion until it became a habit that i have never broken. now that i am 25, it is even more important to take care of my skin. i have never allowed my face to get sun burned & you will rarely catch me in the summer without sun screen on. it may look awesome to have a great tan now, but it will show up in creases on our faces in our 30's. below is a list of the exact products i use every day. most of them are inexpensive and found at a local drugstore.. a few cost more, but are worth the price.

 1. St. Ives body lotion + 2. Neutrogena hand cream

3. Retextureyes2 eye cream + Vibran-C eye gelee

5. Clean & Clear face lotion + Clinique Sunscreen face cream

6. Beta-C night cream + Olay Regenerist night cream

1. St. Ives Naturally Soothing Body Lotion: here applied all over after every shower, except on the face. i usually switch it up every time i run out, there are many different scents and types, but oatmeal & shea butter is my favorite
2. Neutrogena Hand Cream: here the BEST hand cream. thick & creamy... perfect to apply before heading out into the cold & should be applied every night before bed

3. Retexureyes2 with Undereye Lighteners: here applied first on eyelids & under eyes

4.Vibran-C Firming Eye Gelee: here applied second under eyes

5. Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer:  here i have combination skin, so this face cream moisturizes my dry spots while treating my oily skin. this is applied all over the face and neck after eye creams have been patted dry

6. Clinique SPF15 Face Cream: here this is the face cream i use in the summertime. expensive for sunscreen, but worth it when you're face doesn't break out!

7. Pharmagel Beta-C Face Cream: here this is my night cream i use religiously. it can be used as night & day cream, but it is on the expensive side, so i only use it after washing my face, before bed.

8. Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream: here i have gotten pete to use this every night on his face, while i only use it on my neck. you can get all the botox you want on your face when you're older, but your neck will always show your true age. it is important to keep this thin, sensitive skin moisturized & healthy.
